Sound

Synchronous sound:
This is where you can hear what you can see on the screen.

Asynchronous sound:
This is the sound that is not matched with anything on the screen. For example sirens.

Sound Bridges:
This is where you match two sounds to transition into another scene. For example music changing into an alarm ringing.

Ambient Sound: 
Sounds that create the atmosphere for a given location. For example birds singing in a park.

Voiceover:
Distinctive voice which is over the top of the video and usually loud compared to other sound.


Film Music:
Film music can be split up into five different categories:-
Symphonic
Melody
Atonal
Rhythmic
Dissonant
